Family and Friends! 家庭跟朋友們 (super happy I figured out how to type in chinese)
This week went very well. We had over 17 hours of finding this week which was pretty hard but it turned out to be great. WE really saw some miracles. We found 4 investigators 2 of which have some great potential. They are two brothers that are really looking for the truth. I'm excited to meet with them this next week.
The highlight of the week was Ward Council. The ward is rallying behind us and we are really going to start seeing some miracles. We talked about a bunch of our investigators specifically emphasizing some part member less active families. They have a lot of potential if the ward will go out and make an effort to 關心 them. I'm super excited how this one family in particular 陳 家庭 will progress. We had a few members go and visit them after church and they also brought some food over for new year 過年. The ward is really going to start helping us a lot more with Peike lessons and I really believe this will help our work a lot. We have set up some specific times with members that we can come and have lessons in their homes and it will help us out with our effectiveness a lot. We are really trying to take your council and move all of our lessons into either members or investigators homes and I really believe we are going to start seeing some great miracles.
Our biggest miracle this week was a S-- Y-- T---. He is a less active who I have met with every week since I have been here in 新板.We have invited him every week for 8 weeks and he has never came. Finally I really strongly invited him to come to a baptismal service for a kid in our ward and he came. The members were so welcoming and so good to get to know him. I feel like the big reason he hasn't been coming is because he didn't have any friends there. But one of the members invited him to come to church the next day and he came! First time in years. I'm really excited for him and I think that he is one of the reasons that I was sent to this place. We are great friends and I believe he will continue to progress.
We have an eternal investigator who is progressing as well. He just lacks the faith to keep all of the commandments. We had a great lesson in which we read Alma 5 together and he really wanted to have the mighty change of heart that it talks about. We discussed how sometimes that mighty change first has to have effort on your part. I hope that he will act on those feelings and really make an effort to start coming to church every week. I believe he can do it.
My companion and I are doing great. He is a powerhouse missionary who really has a desire to do the things that the Lord has commanded. He is helping me change and grow into the missionary that I should be and I know that we are going to see much success together. We always have a great time contacting and are very positive about the work. Even when we have to do 17 hours of contacting on the street.
I am growing in my spiritual knowledge everyday and I know that the Lord is blessing me with his Spirit more powerfully and more often. I really feel as if He wants me to start stretching myself and trying to the best I can. I am definitely going to try to start doing so. I love the Taiwanese people and I know that I am going to have many more opportunities to bless and help them learn more about this gospel. I'm so grateful that the Lord has an influence in this missionary work because otherwise it would just be pointless.
