11/30/2014 - Temple Week

Happy Thanksgiving! Tepanyaki style. This was about 3 dollars U.S. haha So good!!! Probably my favorite common meal that I eat.

Hey everyone!

Pretty good week to say the least. Interviews with president, awesome new investigator, awesome investigator who's getting ready to be baptized, surprise temple trip, mission leadership council, and 30th anniversary of the temple fireside!

I just want to say my interview with President was awesome. We talked a bunch about how to control our thoughts and ways to see others in a more positive light. He actually helped me really understand how communication can truly influence everything about the work. We talked a lot about interacting with others and such. I will definitely do my best to apply the principles he taught me into my life.

Sister Zhang is doing well! She has improved so much! This week she was in the hopsital so we were able to meet with her 4 times. Although her body isn't feeling great her Spirit is happy. We were finally able to just share the gospel in a non-rushed/busy environment because she couldn't cook us any food! haha It was awesome. She has improved so much and is super excited about her Christmas Day Baptism!

We have a new investigator named Paul and he is a really cool, nice guy. He has some friends in Hawaii that are members and was always struck by how high their standards/success in life. We did a chapel tour and introduced the restoration to him. He lovd what we taught and set up for tomorrow. He really wants to havea  belief system in his life and develop his relationship with God.

I was rally grateful that I could attend the temple this week. It was an awesome surprise from our mission president as part of a training. I was also really happy that I had decided to fast the night before. I can honestly say I hadn't evr had a really "special" fasting experience before but this time I just felt like my mind was so clear and that feeling the Spirit was just a really natural thing for me. I've decided I want to do it a lot more often. I feel like God really helped me understand what I need to do in my life to change in order to become the man I really want to be. I gained a great testimony of how to learn the temple experience and plan on using the principle President He taught us. Temple attendance truly is a way to obtain spiritual power and strength.

We learned a lot about the law of consecration in the mission leadership council. I really loved the example of the young rich righteous ruler. He had lived the commandments, served and loved others, loved God and wanted to become better. He just had that one thing tying him down... His riches. Now, what I love about this is that this story is a parable. It's not about riches it's about sins/weaknesses or whatever is dragging us away from become true disciples of Jesus Christ. LOVE THIS PRINCIPLE! So much I need to improve on! haha

Well Share the Gift of Christmas this week. Go and post the new video about Christmas on Mormon.org to your facebook or whatever the social networks are being used these days. Also I have a Facebook as a misisonary. If you want to follow me (but not add me) it is Elder Andrew Meeks. :) haha

Love ya'll!!
