ASIA AREA PRIORITIES, VISION AND INVITATIONS
Some missionaries have requested that we provide the Asia Area Priorities, Vision and Invitations in both English and Chinese. Here they are:

• Doctrine of Christ: invite all to come unto the Father and the Son through faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the Holy Ghost and enduring with deepening lifelong conversion that they might receive eternal life

• Hasten the Work of Salvation and Establish the Church: strengthen families and Church through the Priesthood; bring the blessings of Melchizedek Priesthood and eternal covenants to fathers and families, quorums, investigators, new members, less-active members, and those searching online and in social media

• This is Asia Area season to plant, nurture, and harvest. In the coming 1-5 years, we seek to:

CHINESE NEW YEAR:
With today being February 1, we are all very aware that the Chinese New Year is quickly approaching.
Members will be very anxious to have missionaries come to their home to enjoy chingke’s during this important Chinese holiday.
Missionaries are permitted to attend meals with members of their ward at any time during the days of the Chinese New Year even if the members live outside of their proselyting areas without the need of requesting additional permission. Missionaries are not permitted to attend meals outside of their ward boundaries without additional permission.
You have already received training on what you should do during the Chinese New Year to maximize your finding and teaching opportunities. Make sure that you follow your training. Let this holiday celebration be the best finding week of your entire year so far.

"We had a lot of success this week with less actives. Since we used the ward mission process in last ward council we've had a lot of new less actives to visit, we have the biggest RCLA teaching pool I have had on my mission thus far and their not just "Eternal" less actives but a lot of them have real desire and intentions to return to church and will keep commitments."

"We realized why recently we have not had many investigators, or many lessons or just anything really in general. It is because we spend so much time out on the streets contacting really nice and cool people, get their phone numbers or give them Books of Mormon, and then don't do anything with it. What I mean is, we go out one day, contact, get lets say ten phone numbers, and then go and do it again the next day, and the next. Ha and never call them! So we realized this. It seems so obvious and simple, so we were kinda confused on why we hadn't been doing it! That is something that we are definitely going to start doing, is just "follow-up". "

"We were blessed to find 5 new investigators Monday and we know it 100% was not our doing. Our language is fairly bad, a lot of times it's hard for those we meet to understand... so why in the world do they meet with us, read the BOM, and try to pray? 100% God. ! It's interesting how when we show obedience and reach our goals, or at least try our absolute best, miracles really do just fall into our laps all the time! "

"When you really love the people you serve, nothing else matters. All doubts, fears and inadequacies fall away because you love the people you are serving. It doesn't matter that my Chinese is awkward or bad. I speak to them because I love them and I know the only way to eternal happiness is through Christ. Christ can and will help these people I love more than I ever can. (In my opinion, this is what makes missionary work really worth it...)"

Thank you all so much for your great efforts this last week. Sister Day and I again enjoyed the Specialized Training with Taoyuan, East Taipei and West Taipei Zones this past week, and we look forward to finishing up our Specialized Training with the Hualien and TaiDong Zones in a combined training meeting in Hualien on Tuesday.
