Hey friends and Fam!
Had a great week this week full of performance, progressing investigators, and caroling! Gotta love the Christmas Spirit that is still present in an ever commercialized Christmas world. :)
We had 4 performances this week which took up quite a lot of time but brought happiness to us and those who were able to hear. I really believe the Christmas Choir is so important because Taiwanese people just don't get what the big deal about Christmas. I love caroling as well because people are just so shocked by the white people singing christmas songs in Chinese. We have given away so many of the He is the Gift cards and I know that those cards will influence at least once person to hear the gospel and it makes the entire thing worth it.
Christmas is such a special time of year. I love focusing on the Savior and all the blessings I have received because he was born on earth. I want to always remember the feelings I have right now as a missionary and the way that I want to serve when I go home. Presents are cool and all but man there are so many people who have nothing in this world and just would be totally changed if someone bought them some presents or just some food even. I am 100% positive that when I go home Christmas will be a time of service and not so focused on the whole gift aspect of it. I love serving people. I truly love seeing the influence that simple acts of kindness have on peoples lives. It seriously can change a life. I am so grateful for this missionary opportunity that I have had so I can realize all of these things. I love the gospel!!!
Our investigators are all still doing well. Wu dixiong is still progressing and will be baptized on the 10th! Man he is a miracle man who was completely prepared before we got to him. We just have to go through the lessons but he already knows it all. He is excited to be baptized and his girlfriend (who is a member) is way more excited! Definitely a tender mercy.
We decided to hold off on Zhang JM because we just want to make sure her faith is there before she gets baptized. She could pass an interview right now but we still think she thinks church is just a club and not a way of life. We're going to wait a couple of weeks and make sure she's doing okay and then have her interview.
Lovin life and chillin as much as I can. :) Sorry the letter is a little lack luster this week but I got to have a great chat with my both my little bros!
LOVE YA'LL
Elder Meeks
